Job Title: Procurement Manager
Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced and strategic Procurement Manager to lead our procurement operations. This role involves managing sourcing, vendor relationships, cost optimization, and ensuring timely availability of materials and services. The ideal candidate will have strong negotiation skills, leadership abilities, and a deep understanding of supply chain processes to drive efficiency and cost-effective procurement.
Procurement Strategy & Planning
• Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with organizational goals
• Identify cost-saving opportunities and improve procurement efficiency
• Plan and forecast material requirements in coordination with internal departments
• Monitor market trends and adjust procurement strategies accordingly
Vendor Management & Negotiation
• Identify, evaluate, and onboard reliable suppliers and vendors
• Lead price negotiations, contract finalization, and agreement management
• Build and maintain long-term relationships with key vendors
• Conduct regular vendor performance evaluations and resolve issues
Purchase Operations & Coordination
• Oversee the end-to-end procurement process from requisition to delivery
• Ensure timely issuance of purchase orders and follow-ups with suppliers
• Coordinate with inventory, production, and finance teams for smooth operations
• Monitor order status and ensure timely delivery of materials and services
Cost Control & Inventory Management
• Analyze procurement data to control costs and improve margins
• Ensure optimal inventory levels to avoid shortages or overstocking
• Recommend alternative sourcing strategies for cost and quality improvement
• Implement best practices for efficient procurement and inventory control
Compliance & Documentation
• Ensure adherence to company policies and procurement regulations
• Maintain accurate records of contracts, purchase orders, and vendor details
• Support internal and external audits related to procurement activities
• Ensure proper documentation and reporting in ERP systems
Team Leadership & Reporting
• Lead and guide the procurement team to achieve departmental goals
• Assign tasks, monitor performance, and provide training when required
• Prepare reports on procurement performance, cost savings, and vendor analysis
• Collaborate with senior management for strategic decision-making
• Proven experience in procurement or supply chain management, preferably in a managerial role
• Strong negotiation, leadership, and decision-making skills
• In-depth knowledge of procurement processes, vendor management, and cost analysis
• Familiarity with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, Tally)
• Excellent communication and analytical skills
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities
• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or related field
• Professional certifications (CIPS, CSCP) are an added advantage
